Have We Reached the Point of No Return?

The other day I was reading through a number of quotes from important political figures of years past when it all stuck me. I realized that America is likely to fail in my lifetime. I believe that there is a very good chance that it might happen soon and I fear that there is nothing that can be done to stop it. I started researching a bit more and came across a quote from Alexander Francis Tytler. He said, "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years."
There are also a few quotes from Winston Churchill that stood out to me. He said, “We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle” and “Some see private enterprise as a predatory target to be shot, others as a cow to be milked, but few are those who see it as a sturdy horse pulling the wagon.”

These certainly are some interesting quotes and I believe that they explain what is happening in American right now.
People fail to realize that it is the private sector that keeps the economy going, not the Government. Without the private sector the Government would collapse because it would have no way of taking in revenue. The Government creates absolutely nothing! It relies solely on the people of this country to support it.

WWII prompted the need for mass production and the private sector answered that call. The private sector employed millions of people in this country and as a result, the Government was able to tax them to fund the war effort. Believe it or not, a lot of people actually think that it was FDR’s social programs that saved the American economy. Those people are wrong.
One of the things that people need to accept about capitalism is that corporate greed will always exist and there will always be people who are taken advantage of. It’s unfortunate but it is true. Winston Churchill said that “the inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.” Personally I’d much rather live in a country where someone else has more than me than one where everyone is equally poor.

Corporate greed does have an upside though; the profit motive. If a capitalist recognizes the opportunity to make a profit, he or she will seize that opportunity. That is the reason that businesses start in the first place. They will also find the most efficient way to run a business to maximize their profits. By nature, capitalism is efficient.
Lets take a look at taxes. Right now there is a huge push from the left to get the rich to pay a higher percentage in taxes. They claim that this would help to reduce our national deficit and give the middle class the break they need to spur the economy back on track. In a way it would seem that the left is trying to redistribute the wealth so they can use the money to fund more social programs to “help” the middle and lower class. We are essentially trying to tax ourselves into prosperity. What will we do when the rich have no more money to give?

Interesting…social programs to “help”the lower and middle class. Are they really trying to help them though or are politicians simply perusing their own selfish interest? I would argue that the left wants to keep giving the poor more so they can keep them dependent. If you’re dependent on the Government then who are you going to vote for, someone who is in favor of big Government and more entitlements, or someone who wants to cut spending and balance the budget?
The current administration keeps making promises to the lower and middle class to make it more fair for them. Things such as Obamacare, the HHS mandate, college grants for students, less strict laws for ILLEGAL immigrants, and any other entitlement that appeals to a large percentage of voters. People are by nature incredibly greedy. We want free stuff the therefore we have a tendency to vote for the person who is going to give us the most. Americans are losing their appreciation for hard work because the government is so eager to simply give away what others have worked so hard to achieve.

Tytler said “It[democracy] can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy”. This is what is happening right now! People voted for Obama because he offered them most. They don’t care who’s paying for it or how it will affect the country as a whole. If they want it they will get it. It’s that simple.
This is a repetitive cycle that we are in. Obama has given people more than any other president in the history of this country. The price that we have paid for it has been huge too. Over six trillion dollars ($6,000,000,000,000) in additional debt over the past four years. We are destroying ourselves through loose fiscal spending and the problem will only get worse. People have limited needs but unlimited desires. They want the Government to keep giving them more and unfortunately the Government will continue to comply to their demands because selfish politicians want to continue to hold their positions.

What a majority of Americans fail to realize is that the candidate that the democrats choose for the 2016 presidential election will be even more radical than Obama. Once you start moving forward in one direction it becomes nearly impossible to go back. That candidate will offer the people even more “free” stuff and I fear that a majority of people will vote for him/her.
I fear that the path to America’s downfall has been paved. The door to socialism has been opened and I don’t foresee it closing anytime soon. Winston Churchill said, “You can always count on Americans to do the right thing—after they’ve tried everything else.” Hopefully we do the right thing before it is too late.

My Thoughts After Hearing the Election Results

I’m just devastated.
America you have let me down. I thought you were better than that. If you voted for Obama than you too have let me down. You voted for the most unconstitutional president in U.S. history. You have no clue about politics or the role of Government. You helped to ruin my beloved country and for that reason I can never look at you the same. We are on the path to becoming a social
ist country and if you can’t see that you are ignorant and close minded.
You are not entitled to birth control, healthcare, college grants, or anything else! The American dream has to be earned. It is not something that can be given away.
The parallelisms to what Obama is doing here and what Hitler did in Germany are shocking. Obama will join with the U.N. and make guns illegal in this country. Without the 2nd Amendment there is no hope for America. The Government can and WILL tell people what to do. We will become a Police State and people will live in fear of their Government.
The economy will collapse and small businesses will begin to shut down across the country. For all you college students out there, the money you get for school will do you no good when you graduate because we will be in the worst job market ever.
I will sit and watch while my county falls, knowing that there is nothing I can do to stop it from happening. Four more years of Obama will be our undoing. My only goal in life is to get married and have kids and now I fear for their future more than anything else. If you think I’m crazy then look in the mirror and you will see who the real extremist is. The so called Rev. Jeremiah Wright said that God should damn America. Well sorry Rev. Wright but Barack Obama is going to beat Him to it.
God Bless America. We need it now more than ever.

Pre-Election Facebook Status #2

We are only one week away from one of the biggest elections in the history of our country. This election will determine the path our county takes for the next four years. It is the duty of every citizen of this country to vote. Do not listen to the lies that the media throws at you. Go on each of the candidates websites and see how they stand on issues. Do not be an uninformed voter. If you vote uninformed you are a disgrace and a failure of a citizen. Ask yourself what the most important issues for you are and learn how the candidates stand on those issues.
I'm not going to tell you who to vote for but I will share my own views. The most important issues for me are: the protection of life from conception to natural death, the protection of religious freedom, the right to bear arms, the economy, and complete energy independence. I am prolife, l do not believe that contraceptives should be paid for by religious institutions who oppose them, I support concealed carry and oppose all forms of gun control(except for felons), I oppose government intervention in the economy and I believe in capitalism and small businesses, and I'm sick of importing most of our oil and paying nearly $4 per gallon. Barack Obama opposes what I stand for and for that reason I will not vote for him. I will vote for Mitt Romney. America is on the path to becoming a socialist country and I believe that four more years like the last four will bring us even closer to that devastating reality.
Please go out and vote next Tuesday. Don't do so uninformed or misinformed, but do so with a formed conscience. Your vote does matter and the future of this country is in your hands. Make your vote count.

I am a prolife, Catholic, constitutionalist, and I am politically informed. Obama has lied to us. He promised in 2008 that he would reduce the deficit, reduce insurance premiums, and get the economy back on track. He also promised that he would not increase taxes on the middle class yet Obamacare is a tax that will affect everyone. He promised that the healthcare bill would not be a tax and it is!
Gas prices have doubled and unemployment rates are no better now than when he took office. The HHS mandate is a direct violation of the First Amendment and my religious beliefs. I WILL NOT support it.
I hate the UN with a passion and want the U.S. to withdraw from it. The UN is putting pressure on us to remove the 2nd Amendment from our constitution. I will not let my rights be trampled upon and I will defend them with any means necessary. Operation Fast & Furious was intentionally botched by the Obama administration to create leverage for implementing gun control. I fear the Government and the last thing I will do is give up the only thing that ensures my other rights are protected. The 2 Amendment exists solely to protect the citizens of this country from tyrannical government.
Our socialist president may mean well but his policies are not working. Obama has not done anything to deserve another term. The next president will also appoint new judges to the Supreme Court and we cannot let that president be Barack Obama. Four more years of Obama will be the downfall of this country.
I believe that abortion is wrong in all cases and that Planned Parenthood should not receive any federal funding. They are a racist organization and their facilities are most often found in predominantly black neighborhoods. Planned Parenthood's founder Margaret Sanger believed in the supremacy of the Aryan race and referred to blacks and other immigrants as "human beings who never should have been born." I will not vote for someone who gives our tax dollars to such a monstrous organization.
I knew from day one that the bombing in Benghazi was carried out by radical Muslims and that it had nothing to do with a YouTube video. It was the anniversary of 9/11! Yet, it took our president 2 weeks before he finally admitted this to be the case. Apparently I'm smarter than our president. Looks like his years spent at Columbia and Harvard didn't do him much good.
As a constitutionalist I also find it very odd and troubling that he will not show us his college records. The U.S. Constitution demands that any president be a natural born U.S. citizen and never claim dual citizenship. College records contain this information and the fact that Obama is withholding this information from us is very upsetting and leads me to believe that he is hiding something. If you honestly think Obama is doing a good job and plan on voting for him next month, I think you are stupid. We are all entitled to our own opinions and that's what mine is. Sorry if I offended anyone but the truth hurts.

Did Dr. Seuss get it Right?

This is a brief informal paper on abortion that I wrote for one of my classes last semester. My professor did not care much for the content but she still gave me an acceptable grade. Enjoy.

“A person’s a person, no matter how small.” These are perhaps some of the best known words in children’s literature. They were written in 1955 by a man named Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
The words of Dr. Seuss are simple, yet convey a powerful message. The convey that from the moment of conception a baby is a person and that he/she is endowed with the same inalienable rights as everyone else.
The topic of abortion and fetal personhood has created a great political and ethical divide in this county. People identify as either being prochoice or prolife and argue amongst each other about who’s right.
Well, which side is right? Is the fetus only tissue, or is it a person?
Often times when a couple finds out they’re pregnant, they rejoice and
tell their family and friends. The news is usually received with joy and words of excitement are exchanged.
There are also occasions when the woman miscarries and they experience a time of deep sorrow for the loss of their child.
When the couple does not want the baby however, there is no excitement or joy. The couple is upset and often times decides that abortion is the best option.
Is abortion really the best option though?
Adolf Hitler thought that it would be best if he murdered millions of Jews during World War II because he believed that they were not human beings. He thought he was doing the right thing. Does that make his actions justified?
Each day 3700 abortions are performed on women in this country who believe that they are doing the right thing. Since abortion has been legal in this country over 56 million of them have taken place.
Recently, doctors have been able to use 3-D ultrasound images to show facial features, fingers, and toes on a baby during the first trimester of pregnancy. These images show the baby moving around and even mimicking actions that an already born child would do, such as sucking its thumb.
Bills have been passed in some states banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy because the baby can feel pain. If doctors have proven that babies can feel pain only half way through the pregnancy, than what’s to say that they can’t earlier?
There’s a common saying that goes, “seeing is believing.” The fetus in the womb certainly looks and acts like its counterparts that have been born! There is also a famous Latin phrase; “cogito ergo sum”, which means “I think, therefore I am”.
If the child in the womb was incapable of thinking, then how would it know to flinch when it feels pain or stick its finger in its mouth?
The evidence points overwhelmingly to the belief that the child in the womb is in fact a person. It appears to be a child and even acts like one, although it has never been outside of the womb.
Abortion truly is the genocide of our time. We would not just sit around and let 3700 live babies be murdered each day, nor did we tolerate the inhumane treatment that Hitler gave to the Jews.
“A person’s a person, no matter how small.” It’s time that we stand up for the lives of the most defenseless and live by those words.

Sex, Love, and the Culture of Death we live in.

Why is the world completely obsessed with sex? Did you ever think that maybe STDs would not exist if people only had sex with one person? After all, how can you spread a sexually transmitted disease if you only have sex with one person? Maybe that’s why you shouldn’t have sex outside of marriage, and perhaps that’s why marriage is supposed to be a lifelong commitment? But of course there’s always “safe sex”. You know, contraceptives. So what if they kill your child, alter your cycle, have numerous health risks such as cancer and infertility, or just put a physical barrier between true love.
America, and the rest of the world for that matter, is quickly becoming the culture of death. We have turned sex from being a beautiful act of selfless love into an act of selfishness, focusing only on the physical pleasure that we can gain from it.
It is my ultimate goal in life to have a family of my own someday. When I get married I want to be able to say to my spouse that I waited for her and saved myself solely for her because she deserves no less.
A friend of mine was walking on campus when he overheard the conversation of two girls in front of him. One of them said to the other, “I did three guys last night, does that make me a whore?”  The other one replied, “no, it would have be at least four.”
The above dialect is absolutely appalling. It seems that most people in this country have no sense of moral decency.
There are two parties at fault for this. The first one is the public school teachers. They teach about the “importance” of the so called “safe sex” and educate students about being healthy, but they don’t teach about abstinence or waiting until marriage. Secondly are the parents of the children. They fail miserably because most of them don’t feel comfortable talking to their kids about sex and leave it up to the teachers, believing that they are doing a good job of it.
I can only hope that I do a better job with my own kids if I am blessed enough to have any. I want to home school them so I can teach them the importance of waiting to have sex until they are married and also the importance of treating women with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Chastity and purity are two of the most beautiful things there are. It’s a shame that so many people just throw them away.

The Science of Fixing the American Economy

Unemployment rates continue to rise and more people are applying for first-time unemployment benefits each week. Our country has reached the point where inflation has devalued the American dollar to the point where most people struggle just to reach ends meet. People are buying less, driving less, donating less, and still spending the same amount of money. People are no longer getting the same “bang for the buck” that they were in years past.
The Government believes that it can fix the economy through artificial stimulation. On paper the idea sounds plausible but we soon realized that it would fail. The Stimulus Package in 2009 proved to be nothing more than a 787 billion dollar waste. It was supposed to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and get the American economy back on the right track. As we all know, it did no such things.
This is not the first time that lavish Government spending has failed to save the American economy. Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal in the 1930s failed in the exact same way as the Stimulus Package. The New Deal cost approximately 32 billion dollars, which is equivalent roughly 500 billion dollars right now once inflation is factored in. The New Deal did not get us out of the Great Depression; World War II is what revitalized the American economy.
The onset of WWII called for mass production of tanks, airplanes, vehicles, weapons, ammunition, clothing, food, and just about anything else one can think of. These were all amenities that we and our allies needed to fight the war. Companies such are Ford and Chrysler saw the opportunity to make a profit and as a result, took on Government contracts to begin producing needed goods. Chrysler alone produces over 18,000 B-29 engines as well as 500,000 military trucks.
Capitalism and the Profit Motive is what saved the American economy, not Government intervention.
Now I’m not at all saying that we need to start a war, although I’m sure there are indeed many people who would have no objection to that. The Government needs to let Capitalism take over. If an entrepreneur recognizes the opportunity to make a profit, he/she will seize it.
Our Government wants to punish small businesses by taxing them more. They want to hurt the businesses that employ the most people in this country. By taking money from the employer, the employees are directly affected. Salaries and benefits have to be cut in order to cover company overhead.
It time that the Government leave American businesses alone and let Capitalism run its course.
I believe that the best way to do this is through drilling for oil and natural gas, both on and off-shore. It would create jobs for the people who work on the oil rig/field itself, as well as bringing new infrastructure to an area. Housing needs for the workers would create construction jobs, restaurants and stores would quickly develop to cater to the other needs of the workers, and pipelines would need to be built to transfer the oil. Entirely new towns could develop.
Drilling for oil would create more jobs than any other venture would. It would also help greatly to reduce the price of gas here. People in turn would have more money to spend. Tourism would increase and money would begin to flow through the hands of American business owners. Capitalism is what has made this country as great as it is. America is the land of opportunity, and it’s time for the Government to give the opportunity back to the people.
Government is the problem; Capitalism is the answer.
